Groodle Breed Information:

The Groodle is a cross between a purebred Poodle and a purebred Golden Retriever. The Groodle is a family oriented dog.They are not a hunting dog but do enjoy outdoor sports and activities. The most distinctive characteristic of Groodles are their temperaments as they are non-aggressive dogs who are friendly with both other animals and are quite tolerant of children’s play. Shedding will differ between individual Groodles depending on the coat type.

Groodle Temperament:

Groodles are known to be a cheerful, loyal and sweet natured breed. They are an intelligent dog and loves to be included in all aspects of family life. They are a very affectionate, outgoing and playful breed, making them great for families with children and they generally get along well with other dogs, given they have been well socialised as a puppy. 

Groodle Grooming:

Groodles come in a variety of coat types. Most are curly or wavy with varying amounts of wooly undercoat, they have little to no shedding. Most thick or curly coats need weekly or bi-weekly brushing and combing to keep ahead of tangling. Like all dog breeds with floppy ears, Groodles need to have their ears properly dried after their bath, and regularly checked to avoid infections.

Groodle Exercise Requirements:

Groodles have a high energy level, so will require a long brisk walk every day. If they are well socialised and outgoing, it is also a good idea to take them to parks or other pet friendly areas, where they can interact with other dogs and people and spend their energy.
