Pulling on the lead is the single most common reason Sydney owners stop walking their dogs. The good news: it's also one of the most fixable. Three weeks, one trainer, the right cues — and a lead that finally goes slack.
Your dog turns every walk into shoulder physio.
You've tried four harnesses and nothing's stuck.
They're great at home - and a different animal past another dog.

You've stopped walking them as far. Or as often.
"Heel" is a position, not a punishment. Your dog learns to walk calmly by your left side, matching your pace, eyes checking in with you instead of scanning the next thing to pull toward — and to stay there until you say otherwise.
Done well, heeling makes everyday life easier: navigating crowded footpaths, walking past other dogs without a meltdown, sitting beside you at a cafe, getting in and out of the car without a tug-of-war. It's the foundation that makes every other walk better.
We use marker-based training (clicker or word) and high-value rewards — no choke chains, no prong collars, no shouting. Why? Because punishment teaches a dog what not to do, and we want to teach them what to do instead. That's the version that holds up six months from now, when the treats are gone and you're walking past a barking dog at 7am.
Donna will explain the why behind every cue, so you can keep practising at home and beyond Week 3.
