SALSA
Meet Salsa, our Black-headed caique with main-character energy and zero concept of personal space. Clever, cheeky, and a total snuggle bug, she's mastered a whole trick repertoire - plus a whistling habit she's very proud of. Skip her kiss quota and she'll let you know, loudly, that you've made a mistake.

Meet Jean, our female Black-capped Lory and resident agent of chaos - the good kind. Playful, cheeky, and an absolute chatterbug, she talks a mile a minute and never met a moment she couldn't make weirder. Certified insane. Certifiably lovable.

Meet Bumble, our male Jungle Carpet Python with a little spice and a lot of curiosity. He's always sensing the world around him, tongue flicking away as he investigates every new sight, sound and visitor. He's got opinions.

TOOTHLESS
Meet Toothless, our male Ghost Knifefish, rehomed through us after he and his female tank mate stopped seeing eye to eye. Shy by nature, but feed him bloodworms and he'll zoom victory laps around the tank. With his sleek, prehistoric silhouette, he looks like he swam straight out of another era.

KEVIN
Meet Kevin, our male Leopard Cactus Pleco with a real flair for showing off. He spends his days foraging around the tank he shares with our native rainbowfish, happily flaunting his stunning patterns and colours to any admirer.

Konka
Konka was our beloved male Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, hatched in 1992. Over many years he became a firm favourite, with visitors dropping by just to chat and dance with him. He was also deeply beloved by the Kellyville Pets team. He's since moved to Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, where he now lives among fellow red-tails.
Luna
Luna was our stunning Albino Murray Short-necked Turtle, hatched in 2015. For ten years she captivated staff and visitors alike, gliding gracefully around her tank. She's since moved on to Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, where she now enjoys a spacious pond and all the sunshine a turtle could wish for.
We fell in love, and then we couldn't let them go.
Every one of our store pets came through the door the same way any other animal does. Somewhere between settling in and finding a home, they became part of the team - the bird that greets the morning shift, the python everyone stops to look at... So they stayed.
The best way to choose a pet is to meet one.
Photos and care sheets only take you so far. Seeing a bearded dragon's real adult size, hearing how loud a caique actually is, or watching how much water a ghost knife fish needs tells you more in five minutes than an afternoon of reading.
Our residents also keep our team sharp. Caring for them daily is why the advice you get at the counter comes from hands-on experience, not a product label.

Are the store pets for sale?
No. Our residents are permanent members of the team. Plenty of other animals are available though - you'll find them in our Pets Available range or in store.

Can I handle them?
Some of them, with a staff member present. Ask in the department and we'll let you know who's happy to be held on the day - it depends on the animal and how busy we are.

Can I bring my kids?
Absolutely - most of our visitors are families. We just ask that little ones don't tap on the glass or reach into enclosures without a team member.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, on a lead and under control at all times. Some of our residents find dogs stressful, so please keep your dog clear of enclosures.

Can I visit just to look?
Please do. There's no cost and no expectation to buy anything - a lot of locals drop in purely to see the animals.
