Have you considered adoption?
K Rescue Pets is our adoption arm - the first thing we suggest to anyone looking for a new pet. Rescue cats in store year-round, rehoming days with partner rescues, and support for the organisations doing the hard yards.
Independent pet store. 40+ years.

Adoption first, wherever it's possible.
We believe every pet deserves a home for life, and adoption is a wonderful way to start that story. It's something we genuinely support - if you're weighing it up, our team is happy to answer questions and point you toward the right rescue or organisation.
We're honest about our limits, though. The pets we have available for adoption are few and change all the time, so adoption often isn't something we can offer directly. What we can do is champion it: host rehoming days with partner rescues, and keep a rescue cattery running in store year-round.
The same thinking shapes every pet that leaves our store. We take the time to check the match is right for your family and your living situation before anyone goes home, and we back it with a cooling-off period and lifetime rehoming - so if life changes, that pet comes back to us rather than ending up in a shelter.
Our rescue cattery, right inside the store.
A large in-store cattery with individual bed spaces for each rescue cat and a big climbing tree to share. The cats come from our partner rescues, and there are usually cats looking for homes right through the year.
They find homes quickly, so we rarely list exactly who's available - the best way to meet them is to come in and see who's here.
A day for the animals and the people fighting for them.
A few times a year we hand our space over to a partner rescue for the day - most often Animal Welfare League NSW, Hills Kitty Rescue or Greyhounds as Pets NSW. Yes, a lot of pets find homes on those days. But just as importantly, hundreds of people come in and meet a rescue team they'd never heard of before. The rescue's own crew is here the whole time, answering questions and talking about the work. Every family still goes through the same application and screening - the day just puts the right people together.
Getting involvedWe also occasionally fundraise in store and collect supply donations for local shelters.Every dollar and every donation goes straight to animals still waiting for a home.
Come and meet who's here.
Our rescue cats change week to week. Seven days a week, no appointment needed - just walk in and say hello.
