Ethically bred

Bred by keepers we trust.

Our reptiles are healthy and ethically bred, many of which are bred right here at Kellyville Pets. Keep an eye about when you visit next, you may be lucky enough to witness a baby emerging from its egg! We are completely transparent with all our breeding programs and husbandry protocols and are independently audited by the RSPCA, AWL and NPWS. We don't just meet their minimum required standards, we far exceed them.

Health guarantee

Healthy when they leave, and after.

All of our reptiles come with a health guarantee. Our babies are in tip-top health and absolutely thriving before we’re happy to let them leave our store. Our staff will keep in touch with you after you get your new pet home to answer any questions that you may have along the way.

Feeding guarantee

Feeding well, with a care pack to match.

Our feeding guarantee lets you know that we’ve spent plenty of time raising our hatchlings, to ensure they’re strong feeders. Every reptile from Kellyville Pets goes home with a comprehensive care pack, that includes all the relevant information required to help your new family member settle in. If you ever need any further assistance, we're just a phone call away.

Cooling-off period

Seven days to be sure.

We thoroughly screen all potential 'reptile parents' before allowing one of our babies to go to a new home. With this in mind, we understand that reptile keeping isn't for everyone. We want the very best for our reptiles and since taking a new pet home is a huge commitment, and sometimes things don’t work out, we offer a 7 day cooling-off period.

We work closely with all of our reptile breeders to ensure our reptiles have had the best start to life. At Kellyville Pets, we're happy to provide ongoing support throughout your reptile's life.

Before you buy

Your legal obligation β€” a licence to keep reptiles.

Purchasing a reptile in Australia requires you to hold a current reptile keepers licence. Check the relevant authority in your state below. Note that transporting reptiles interstate may require import and export licences from either state.

Here, at Kellyville Pets we do not freight our reptiles. Due to current delays in export licence applications, only those with a NSW Native Animal Keeper's Licence may purchase a reptile from Kellyville Pets unless prior arrangements have been made.

Reptile buying FAQ.

  • Do I need a licence to buy a reptile?

Yes. In NSW you need a current native animal keeper licence from Service NSW before you can take a reptile home. Other states have their own authority β€” see the licensing section above. We'll check your licence at the counter.

  • Can I buy a reptile online?

No β€” reptiles are in-store purchase only. We want you to meet the animal, ask questions, and leave with the right setup and advice. It's better for you and much better for the reptile.

  • What comes with my reptile?

A health guarantee, a feeding guarantee, a comprehensive species-specific care pack, and ongoing support from our keepers whenever you need it.

  • How much does a full setup cost?

It depends on the species and the enclosure size. Come in and tell us what you're considering and we'll price a complete, correct setup β€” heating, lighting, substrate and all β€” so there are no surprises.

  • Are reptiles good pets for kids?

Many are β€” bearded dragons and blue-tongue lizards are calm and handleable. They still need adult supervision, careful hygiene, and a keeper licence held by an adult. Our team will help match the species to your household.

  • What if it doesn't work out?

Every reptile purchase includes a 7-day cooling-off period. If something isn't right, come and talk to us β€” we'd much rather help than have an animal struggle.

  • Do you take reptiles back or rehome them?

Talk to our reptile team. We deal with surrenders and rehoming case by case and will always do what's best for the animal.

  • What's in store today?

Availability changes weekly. Give us a call on (02) 9629 3282 before you drive out if you're after a specific species or morph.
