A great first pet reptile for beginners and children. Blue tongue lizards are highly interactive and interesting to watch. They are omnivorous, feeding on a range of live insects, fruits, vegetables and formulated lizard pellets. Blue tongue lizards can live for up to 15-20 years in captivity. Check out our blue tongue Care Guide for more information about their care.

Hypermelanistic
Hypermelanistic blue-tongues are the result of a colour mutation which causes excessive dark pigment production (melanin) in the lizard’s skin. Hyper melanistic, or ‘black’ blue tongues are almost jet black all over with piercing dark black eyes and are highly sought after in the reptile hobby.

T+ Albino
T+ Albino blue‑tongues are the result of a genetic mutation that reduces, but does not completely eliminate, melanin production in the skin. Unlike traditional (T−) albinos, T+ animals retain warm brown, caramel, and chocolate tones alongside soft yellows and oranges. Their eyes are typically copper in colour, giving them a striking and unique appearance. This partial pigmentation combined with their distinctive contrast makes T+ Albino blue‑tongues highly prized within the reptile hobby.

Albino
Albino (T-) blue-tongues are the result of a naturally occurring mutation which causes a lack of colour pigmentation (melanin) in the animal's skin. Albino blue-tongues are generally completely white or yellow and sometimes have shades of lavender or purple with bright red eyes.

Our blue-tongue collection is always changing and fluctuates across the year as a reflection of their seasonal breeding cycles. We strive to always have blue tongues in-store, including various morphs, but their availability is not guaranteed. Due to the natural diversity of this species, every animal is unique. Blue-tongued lizards pictured are representative only and individuals may differ in colour and pattern. The age and size of our available blue tongues is also subject to change.
