About Quaker Parrots

Quaker Parrot Information:

Quaker Parrot Size:

Medium 30-40cm
80-150g

Quaker Parrot Life Span:

25-30 years

Quaker Parrot Temperament:

Quakers are very confident and social birds. They love to interact with their "flock" and are known around the world for their exceptional talking ability. As pets, they tend to bond very closely with one person, and are known for their loyal nature. Most hand fed Quakers are quite gentle and many make wonderful pets for younger bird owners.

Quaker Parrot Grooming:

Regular wing clipping is recommended to prevent flying away or any injuries to the bird.
Giving your Quaker the opportunity to bathe is important. Frequent bathing serves several purposes. It prevents dry skin, softens the keratin coating which helps with moulting, and keep your bird bright and clean.
Your bird should have access to a bathing dish with fresh water every day.

Quaker Parrot Cage:

Quakers are very active birds, and need to have an adequate amount of space in which to play. Provide your Quaker with plenty of toys, play gyms as "exercise equipment", and time outside of the cage to ensure that your pet stays happy and physically fit.

The cage should be as large as possible. Your bird needs to be able to flap its wings without risking injury. Ideally the minimum dimensions would be no smaller than 20 x 20 x 24. This size will give more room for your bird to fly from one side to the other.
