Murray Short-Necked Turtle

Murray Short-necked turtles are a wide-ranging species occurring throughout waterways of eastern Australia. They make a fascinating and unique pet, and their enclosure can make quite the spectacle in any living room.

Did you know that there is no such thing as a Penny Turtle? That term was once used to describe a hatchling turtle and is now one of the most widespread reptile misconceptions that still exist with the general public to this day.

All species of Australia Fresh Water turtle will grow to a respectable size, with most species easily reaching 25cm in carapace (shell) diameter. That’s about the size of a dinnerplate!
