Our rescue cattery is a proper home away from home - a large, purpose-built space with individual bed spaces so every cat has somewhere quiet of their own, and a big climbing tree for the ones who'd rather be out and exploring.
Rescue cats and kittens are with us most of the year, and they find their homes quickly. The best way to meet them is simply to come in - our team can talk you through each cat's story, personality and what they'd need from a home. No booking needed.
We work with the rescues doing the hard yards.
Our cat adoptions run in partnership with local and state rescue organisations - most often Animal Welfare League NSW and Hills Kitty Rescue. Cats in our in-store cattery may come from either, depending on who needs the space at the time. Adoption criteria, screening and fees are set by the rescue, and 100% of every adoption fee goes back to them. You can meet available cats and learn more through AWL NSW.

A Rescue Cat Rehoming Day brings a whole group of cats into our store for a single day, with the rescue's own team on hand. It's the fastest way we know to move a lot of cats out of foster care and into homes. Each day runs in collaboration with a single partner rescue, so the team knows every cat in the room: their history, their temperament and the kind of household that will suit them. Numbers never come at the cost of care - every family still goes through the same application and screening, and we'd rather a cat waits for the right home than leaves with the wrong one.

Our 15 March 2025 Rescue Cat Rehoming Day saw 23 cats and kittens head off with their new families. Then in May, 32 cats found their people in a single day.
Every adoption fee from those days went straight back to our partner rescues, funding the vet care and rescue work that gets the next lot of cats ready for homes.

Rescue cat adoption FAQ.
Adoption criteria and fees are set by our partner rescues, so some details vary. Our team is happy to talk it through in store, seven days a week.

What does the adoption fee cost, and what does it cover?
The adoption fee is set by the partner rescue and can vary depending on factors such as the cat's age - kittens and adult cats are often priced differently. It typically covers desexing, up-to-date vaccinations, microchipping, and current flea, tick and worming treatments. 100% of the fee goes back to the rescue to fund their ongoing work.

Do I need to book to adopt a cat?
Not for our in-store rescue cats - just come in any day of the week and our team will introduce you. Booking is only for Rescue Cat Rehoming Days, where sessions are limited so each family gets proper time with the cats.

What's involved in the screening process?
There's a short application covering your household, other pets, and where the cat will live. For in-store adoptions, screening and paperwork are completed with the Kellyville Pets team. On rehoming events, the partner rescue handles it with you on the day.

I already have pets - can I still adopt?
Absolutely, and it's worth telling us up front. Some cats are perfectly happy alongside dogs or other cats, others would rather be the only one. Knowing your household helps us point you at the right cat rather than the cutest one.

Do rescue cats need to be kept indoors?
Most rescues ask that cats are kept indoors or in a securely contained outdoor area. It keeps them safe from cars, dogs and fights, and it protects local wildlife. We can help you set up an enriching indoor space with climbing, scratching and hiding spots.

Can I reserve a particular cat before a rehoming day?
No - cats are matched with families on the day, and we can't guarantee any specific cat will still be available. Booking a session guarantees your time with the cats, not a particular cat.

What if the adoption doesn't work out?
Speak to the rescue you adopted through as soon as something isn't right - they'd far rather help early than have a cat rehomed elsewhere. Our team is here seven days a week too, for advice on settling in, feeding and behaviour.

What will I need to buy before bringing a cat home?
At minimum: food, bowls, a litter tray and litter, a scratching post, a carrier and a bed. Our team will walk you through what suits your cat's age and personality, and we keep everything in store so you can sort it all in one trip.
