Meet our vets

DR MARKUS MANDER  |  Practice Owner and Veterinarian

Dr Markus Mander BVSc graduated from the University of Pretoria Vet School in 1996 and spent the next five years gaining a vast amount of veterinary experience working in small animal practices in the UK. Markus moved to Australia in 2001 and completed postgraduate study in Small Animal Medicine. His interests include complex medical cases, and soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. His main surgical interest lies in knee surgery – both cruciate ligament rupture and patella luxation surgeries. Markus lives in Kellyville with his wife and two children and plays an active role in the local community. His interests outside of work include travel, cycling, running, kite surfing and scuba diving. 

DR VICKI RUMBOLD  |  Veterinarian

 Dr Vicki Rumbold BVSc (Hons I) graduated from The University of Sydney in 2004 and upon graduation, Vicki worked for two years in a rural mixed animal practice in Griffith (Riverina, NSW) before joining Markus in 2006. She enjoys interacting with pet owners and their companions and has a special interest in surgery, in particular soft tissue surgery. Along with her dog (Molly), cat (Narla), guinea pigs and fish, Vicki has a son and daughter who share her passion for animals and the outdoors. Family activities are centred around bushwalking, camping and exploring nature. 

DR GRACE MA |  Veterinarian

Dr Grace Ma BVSc (Hons1st class) graduated from The University of Sydney in 2003. After graduation, she lived and worked in Hong Kong for three years before returning home to work in a busy small animal practice in Western Sydney. Grace enjoys getting to know owners, working with their pets and helping to improve their human-animal bond. Her interests include small internal medicine, in which she has completed further education courses in. In her spare time, Grace enjoys spending time with her family and her very affectionate cat, Belle. 

DR KARISHMA NANDHA  |  Veterinarian

Dr Karishma Nandha BVSc (Hons), Grad Cert Small Animal Clinical Studies, is a 2007 graduate from The University of Sydney. During the last ten years of veterinary practice, Karishma has worked in rural NSW, completed a post graduate rotating internship, worked in many specialist referral hospitals across Australia and also completed further studies in emergency and critical care. Karishma enjoys all facets of veterinary science, especially critical care, medicine and surgery, however her favourite part is the human-animal bond -she loves interacting with her clients and patients. Karishma is owned by her two Belgian shepherds Tindra and Nero as well as her cat Milly. When not at work, Karishma enjoys being outdoors with her fur-kids and family. 

DR HELEN WONG  |  Veterinarian

Dr Helen Wong BVSc graduated from The University of Sydney in 2011. She has been working in an Inner west clinic since she graduated and joined the Sydney Animal Hospital Norwest team in 2014. Helen enjoys all areas of veterinary practice, in particularly small animal surgery and dentistry. She has been challenging herself and expanding her experience in emergency medicine at our local after-hours hospital. Apart from our regular canine and feline patients, Helen also enjoys working with fluffy exotics patients (guinea pigs and rabbits) and also feathery avian patients (chickens, lorikeets and parrots). Helen also likes taking care of our Australian native wildlife after working closely with wildlife rescue organisations at her previous clinic. Helen has two geriatric guinea pigs that enjoy nothing but waddling back and forth from their bed and food, eating and sleeping on their veggie bed all day, as well as a cockatiel called Tequila who likes demanding her attention for head scratches whenever he can.
